The story behind the song....

This is a song about love. We recorded it one day in the studio, a few weeks after we found out we were expecting our first baby, after a long year of hope and disappointment.

It’s also a completely improvised song. Adam had come up with an instrumental thing which I really loved, and I just kind of sang. The whole thing came out of how we were feeling, and really captured our mood. We changed 2 words afterwards, just to make a little bit more sense (!), but mostly we've left the vocals exactly as they were recorded in that sunny attic studio 8 years ago, while Adam was downstairs making a cup of tea, an expression of how we felt in that moment.

We thought it would be really nice to get Daisy to do the artwork, now we've decided to release the song. It seemed fitting that she should be involved as the song was written about her!
So she sat down and listened for a bit, and then drew what came to her from what she heard. I joined in to help bring colour to her drawings towards the end, and it felt like a really special moment, being able to both create together as we listened to a song written about her, before she was even born!

We're very proud of her, and all she has overcome at such a young age. She's compassionate, fiercely independent (!) and the most creatively minded person we've ever met.

So we hope you enjoy the song, and enjoy watching the video as much as we do!
